PuLSE 2025: Fireside Chat with Businesswoman Pioneer Cindy Pasky

Cynthia J. Pasky, a prominent Detroit business leader, and one of the few women pioneers in the corporate world, who is the founder and CEO of Strategic Staffing Solutions, a global IT consulting and business services corporation, will speak at the Annual Economic Justice Conference hosted and organized by The PuLSE Institute, Detroit’s national and non-partisan anti-poverty think tank. 

The virtual poverty-themed conference will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 8:30am-12:30noon featuring solution-oriented keynote presentations and cutting-edge discussions about how to address the salient issues of poverty and inequality in urban America including Detroit, one of the nation’s largest Black cities, and one of the most impoverished in the country.

The Institute is led by distinguished Attorney Tina M. Patterson, Esq., the President and Director of Research and one of the few women leading a prominent think tank in the country. 

The October meeting is The Institute’s annual racial and economic justice conference for policy makers, scholars, industry captains and community advocates working towards creating an ethical economy that guarantees equality for all.

 Pasky will appear for a fireside chat with the nationally acclaimed journalist, cultural critic and standard-bearer for economic justice issues Bankole Thompson, who is the founder and dean of The PuLSE Institute. The two will discuss the 35th anniversary of Strategic Staffing Solutions which grew out of Detroit and is now operating in several countries.

 The conversation will center on Pasky’s longstanding commitment and determination to establish a business enterprise that is not only a force to reckon with in a world where there is growing demand for more women entrepreneurs but also her work and commitment in being a conscientious corporate leader in Detroit and beyond. She serves as chair of the Detroit Downtown Partnership Board of Directors, and is a member of Business Leaders for Michigan Board of Directors. She is the founding chair of the American-Lithuanian Business Council and serves on the Investor Advisory Committee of the Government of Lithuania.

Cindy has also served as past board chair for Michigan Humane Board of Directors, past chair of the Michigan Workforce Development board, past board chair of Eastern Market Partnership and past co-chair of Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan’s Workforce Development Board.

Pasky has recently been named among the Top 100 Most Influential Lithuanian Women by “Women At” magazine and is an inaugural member of Staffing Industry Analysts’ Staffing Hall of Fame.  Other major business leaders speakers who have been selected by The Institute to speak at the economic conference is Bob Riney, the President and CEO of Henry Ford Health System, Jerry Norcia, the Executive Chairman of DTE Energy and Karen Harbert, the President and CEO of the American Gas Association. All three business leaders will participate in a Plenary Session that will kick off the conference examining the Value and Impact of Effective Corporate Citizenship. Norcia will serve as the moderator.
